Scope: The main aim of this book series is to provide integrated approaches, from the methods and concepts of science, engineering and technological disciplines, to the solutions of biological and biomedical problems for the benefit of human healthcare. The book series seeks to compile all the aspects of biomedical science, engineering and technology from fundamental principles to current advances in translational medicine. It covers a wide range of the most important topics including, but not limited to, biomedical materials, biodevices and biosystems, bioengineering, micro and nanotechnology, biotechnology, biomolecules, bioimaging, cell technology, stem cell engineering and biology, gene therapy, drug delivery, tissue engineering and regeneration, and clinical medicine.

The Biomedical Science, Engineering, and Technology series reaches a wide audience including scientists, engineers, clinicians, industrial experts, researchers and students working in the burgeoning field of biomaterials, bioengineering, nanoscience and nanotechnology, biotechnology, molecular biology, gene therapy, cell biology, basic biomedical sciences and clinical medicine.

About the Series Editor:
Murugan Ramalingam is an associate professor of biomaterials and tissue engineering at the University of Strasbourg (UDS), France. Concurrently he holds an adjunct associate professorship at the Tohoku University, Japan. Prior to joining UDS, he worked at the WPI-Advanced Institute for Materials Research, Japan. He has also worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (USA) and National Institutes of Health (USA) under the U.S. National Academies Associateship program. He received his PhD in biomaterials) from the University of Madras. He has also undergone training in "Ethical and Policy issues on Stem Cells" from Harvard University and in "Operations Management" from the University of Illinois-Chicago. He has authored more than 125 publications, including peer-reviewed journal papers, conference proceedings, book chapters, authored books, edited books, and patents relevant to biomaterials and tissue engineering. He serves on the editorial boards of multiple biomaterials and tissue engineering related journals, including an Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Bionanoscience and Journal of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. He is also a recipient of CSIR fellowship (India), SMF fellowship (Singapore), NRC Fellowship (USA), National Professeur des Universités (France) and Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (UK).

The Series is open to Handbooks, authored books, edited volumes, textbooks, as well as the occasional single chapter.
