James R. Couper

James R. Couper James R. Couper is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Arkansas where he has taught and performed research for about 40 years. His areas of expertise are process design and process economics. Prior to entering teaching, He worked for Presstite Engineering, Missouri Portland Cement Company and Monsanto. At the latter company, he worked in process and plant engineering as well as a production supervisor of five fine chemicals departments. Couper has taught more than 90 continuing education courses, both in the public domain and in-house, on topics such as process economics, effective cost estimation, financial analysis and fundamentals of chemical and process technology.

Couper is a Fellow of AIChE and a registered professional engineer in Missouri and Arkansas.
